Our Christian Vision and Values
Our Mission Statement
"Shap School: A Safe Branch from which to Soar!"
At Shap Endowed C of E Primary School, we provide a nurturing environment where every child and staff member can flourish and feel secure, embodying our vision of a place from which all can "soar."
Our Christian Vision
Our Christian Vision, developed in collaboration with staff, governors, and our school community, reflects our commitment to "living in harmony" and nurturing growth for all. Our logo represents this vision: the child-centered tree with a cross in the foliage signifies our connection to the church, while the eagle symbolises "soaring" beyond boundaries.
Ofsted (2024) recognised: “The school’s mission to provide pupils with ‘a safe branch from which to soar’ is brought to life by all in the school and its wider community.”
Our Christian Values
Chosen by our children, these values form the foundation of our school life:
- Friendship
- Trust
- Peace
- Koinonia
- Compassion
- Creation
Each half-term, we focus on one of these values in worship, using art, music, and projects to bring them to life. Our children’s artwork and collaborations with artists, like the creation of our school anthem and eagle collage, celebrate these values throughout our school.
Vision and Values Week
We begin each academic year with a "Vision and Values" week, where we establish our class contracts, Home School Agreements, and reaffirm our shared values. During these weeks, visiting artists help us explore and deepen our connection to our Christian Vision and Values.
Our Anthem and Rap
Our school anthem and rap, developed with music and rap artists, celebrate our Christian Vision and Values. We sing these each week, a joyful reminder of our shared mission.
